A Weekend Getaway to Connecticut
April 10-12, 2015
After a long week of rainy, gloomy weather, I was ecstatic for a beautiful weekend in Greenwich, Connecticut with Neepak. It was my first time to Connecticut and I must say that I'm in love with the quaint, small town atmosphere. I used to think I was a city girl, but I really am a suburban girl at heart. It's great having the proximity to the city (NYC is about an hour away) but there's nothing quite like the peacefulness of a small town. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, which was conveniently situated close to the destinations on our to-do list.
Before exploring the boutiques and stores on Greenwich Ave, Neepak and I had lunch at Méli-Mélo, a French restaurant. This brought back high school memories of French class when I first tried nutella crepes. So guess what I ordered? A banana and nutella crepe. It was Neepak's first time eating crepes and he had a super sweet and delicious treat!
If you're an outdoor enthusiast and in the area, I would definitely recommend Greenwich Point Park (check out my foursquare tip here). On the drive there you'll also pass by a doggie park where there's several small bridges and a lake you can stroll around.
This was my first but it definitely won't be my last time in Connecticut!
